Psalm 127:3-5

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
    offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.

Bible Reading:  Psalm 127:3-5
Theme:  Unless The Lord Builds (Part 2)
.
Take Home Point:  Entrust All Your Projects and Aspirations to the Lord Today.

A lot of things come into play when building a house or embarking on a project such as location, design, cost of the project, risk factors, government approval, what to produce or sell (for business projects) and so on. If one does not pay close attention to these items, such a person might pay dearly for such neglect.

Proverbs 19:21 states that “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

There are many blessings that accrue to us when we commit our plans, dreams, aspirations and so on to God.  One of such blessings is that of children, the fruit of the womb.  Our text reads; “3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”

Children are a blessing and reward from God. Most couples, after their wedding ceremonies and honeymoons, want to settle down and start having children. Most homes without children feel lonely and lifeless.  Remember back in the days when farming was the basic form of economy folks were big on having large families.  The more children, one had the better opportunity for making more money as one had enough hands to support him on the farm and during the harvest time.

So, you can imagine the agony couples who had no children in those days went through.  That is the reason King Solomon wrote that “Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.”

Charles Spurgeon wrote that ““Nobody cares to meddle with a man who can gather a clan of brave sons about him.” You dare not mess with such a man, that might just be your end. This is so because children form a protective edge over their parents when they become old and vulnerable.

One other blessing that comes with entrusting our building projects, dreams, and aspirations to our faithful God is divine protection. Psalms 91:1-2 states that “Whoever dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Isaiah 54:17 informs us that “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

So each time we feel vulnerable, it is so comforting to know that God watches over our homes, guiding us away from harm and leading us towards a life filled with His love and protection.

Kindly go ahead and entrust all your projects for the year 2026 into God’s able Hands.

Prayer Points:

1. Lord, please lead the way, wherever you go, I will follow you.

2. Lord, I commit my family, spouse, children, dreams, aspirations, desires, and projects into your hands, please bless them according to your will in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.

God bless you until I see you next week.

I wish you a meaningful week.
