Psalm 127:1-2
1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.

Bible Reading: Psalm 127:1-2
Theme: Unless The Lord Builds.
Take Home Point: Entrust All Your Projects and Aspirations to the Lord Today.
Good day folks and a very happy New Year 2026 to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s a new year and a lot of us have dreams, aspirations, and building projects we hope to embark on and hopefully accomplish during the course of the year. However, there is one vital and critical element that most people often overlook and neglect in their planning when it comes to building a house or guaranteeing a future of security and peace. That is what you and I will be considering today as we begin our walk into the New Year 2026. Please turn with me to Psalm 127 and we will be looking at verses 1-2 which reads;
“1Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. 2In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.”
The difference between living in the house that one builds and reaping the fruits of one's labor, is the God factor.
In every human endeavor or activity, we need God’s blessings. All that we accomplish in life or will ever accomplish in life will be for nothing or worthless if the Lord is not in it. We can “build,” we can “watch,” and we can get married, but it is the Lord who gives and guarantees success. It is God that builds and sustains our homes and marriages.
A Latin motto says, Nisi Dominus Frusta. It means ‘Without the Lord, Frustration.’
This is the point: The success of all our undertakings, dreams, aspirations, depends so entirely upon God’s blessing, that it is in vain and foolish to attempt anything without God’s complete involvement.
I will encourage us to put God first in everything we plan to do this year, and I know we shall all live to testify of the goodness of God to us by the end of the day in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen. Please, always bear in mind that UNLESS THE LORD BUILDS, our efforts most likely will end in frustration.
God bless you until I see you next week.
